Ebb and Flow. Life.

To cross the street
Is to risk being the stopper of a car
Roll that over three times
And exhale

Breath your death-making into the world
And inhale
Breath in new life
Destroy consume and destroy again
That one will roll over by itself until the sun stops
The inclination lives on in all things

Now lean forwards
Put your head and your eyes into the world
And look
Take what is there and seize it
For what you see is yours
Available to no one else
Yours to see and yours to have
Remember there is greed in the simple act of seeing

And knowing
You float on a cloud,
Your body melting into vapors
What do you truly know for yourself?
A litany of given things
And vain attempts at creation.

Hold out your hands
Your left and then your right
Two fists made to smash
Two delicate instruments for molding
Two bastions of crea-
No, that is beyond the limits of the hands
For the only making is in the mind
The slippery little parchment piece called Self
That the hands jot out copy after copy of
Again and again

I wager you have feet as well
Step left and right
On and on until you forget these words
And cease to tumble them in your mind
I hope then you will have peace
